Xiaomi 14 Ultra gets stopped by Geekbench ahead of alleged February 2024 launch, thanks to claims of better wireless charging
New details about the Xiaomi 14 Ultra continue to emerge online. This time, the global version of the device has appeared on Geekbench, while notable leakers have hinted at a major wireless charging improvement over the Xiaomi 13 Ultra and the prospect of a February 2024 launch in some capacity.
Xiaomi’s next flagship smartphone appears to havefermato Geekbench during its journey to the market. As the screenshot below shows, someone ran the benchmark of ‘Xiaomi 24030PN60G’, an unreleased smartphone. Typically, Geekbench doesn’t provide many details about the device.
For example, the benchmark listing doesn’t link the 24030PN60G to a retail model name. However, 24030PN60G was seen five months ago along with 24030PN60C in the IMEI databases and MIUI code. SecondGSMChinaxiaomi has associated both model numbers with the codename ‘aurora’, which Geekbench lists in the motherboard section of its 24030PN60G listing.
Additionally, Geekbench tacitly confirms that there will be a global counterpart to the 24030PN60C, denoted by the ‘G’ suffix in 24030PN60G. Furthermore, the same listing reveals that the 24030PN60G uses theSnapdragon 8 Gen 3, seen below as ARM implementer 65 architecture 8 variant 0 part 3458 revision 1. Furthermore, Geekbench highlights that Xiaomi has integrated theSnapdragon 8 Gen 3 with 16 GB of RAM, in line with itXiaomi 14 Pro. Currently, Xiaomi is thought to be working on delivering oneXiaomi 13 Ultra using Qualcomm’s latest flagship chipset, designating the 24030PN60G and 24030PN60C as the global and Chinese versions of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, respectively.
It is assumed that the transition toSnapdragon 8 Gen 3 will coincide with the adoption of faster wireless charging. Writing on Weibo, Digital Chat Station says that the Xiaomi 14 Ultra could support 80W wireless charging and 100W wired charging, which would both be upgrades over the equivalents thatXiaomi 13 Ultra xiaomi 13 Ultra. For the moment, it is thought that the Xiaomi 14 Ultra will arrive as early as next month, although it remains to be seen in what capacity.
